Fifteen students and five academic staff members from the State University of Zanzibar (SUZA) proudly represented Zanzibar and Tanzania during the prestigious Erasmus Mobility Programme, a collaborative exchange between SUZA, Oradea University and University of Arad in Romania. This initiative fosters academic and cultural ties between African and European institutions, promoting knowledge-sharing and international cooperation.
Expressing appreciation on behalf of Oradea and Arad University, Prof. Gabriella expressed her sincere appreciation to SUZA Vice Chancellor Prof. Moh’d Makame Haji, following the reading of his message by Mary. She stated: ‘I wish to sincerely thank you for your thoughtful and honorable letter. Your team—especially Dr. Merry, Madame Zaituni, Mr. Masoud, and Khalef (the students’ representative)—represented Zanzibar and SUZA with great distinction. Your message was deeply valued by Madam Rector, Prof. Dr. habil. Coralia Adina COTORACI, and colleagues.'”
SUZA Vice Chancellor Prof. Makame emphasized the significance of their participation, remarking: “I am very happy that we succeeded in extending and strengthening the image of Zanzibar and SUZA in Romania and worldwide, as the program was attended by delegations from 23 countries.”
The Erasmus Mobility Programme offers transformative opportunities for students and academics to exchange knowledge, experience diverse educational systems, and immerse themselves in different cultural and social contexts. Through this initiative, SUZA students gain invaluable academic and practical experiences, strengthening their capabilities and preparing for higher education pathways, including Master’s and PhD studies.
