The State University Of Zanzibar
The history of the School of Education (SoE) is intricately intertwined with that of SUZA. Way back in 2001, the School of Education, a foundation school of the State University of Zanzibar (SUZA).
The School of Education (SoE) is the founding school of the State University of Zanzibar. It became a separate school in October 2012 from the former School of Education, Arts and Sciences (SEAS) as a result of the University restructuring. The 2012 restructuring compels the School of Education to expand its services to provide diverse courses and Programmes which will cater for national, regional and international education needs.
The School currently has two departments, namely the Department of Educational Foundation, Instruction and Leadership (DEFIL) and the Department of Early Childhood, Primary, Inclusive and Special Needs Education (DECPISNE).
To provide a high quality education, advance frontiers of technology and promote professional excellence in teacher education, teaching, learning and related areas of social research.
To be a renowned school of an international repute in the provision of high quality teacher education and technology enabled education.

Dr. Said Khamis Juma he is a dean of School of Education (SoE) at the State University of Zanzibar – (SUZA). Dr. Said Khamis Juma holds a PhD in Inclusive Education from (University of Jyväskylä), also hold Master MA Applied Psychology from (University of Dar es Salaam) and from University of Dar es Salaam also Dr. Said Khamis Juma he graduate his Degree level on B. A Sociology (Hons).
