PRESS RELEASE ACADEMIC PROMOTION
The State University of Zanzibar (SUZA) is pleased to inform the University Community and the general public that the Appointment and Human Resource Board, on its 24 th Meeting held on 5th February, 2026, by the powers conferred upon it under Section No. 4.8.1 of SUZA Academic Staff Promotion Guidelines of December, 2024 has approved the promotion of the following members of the academic staff.

About Our University
The State University of Zanzibar (SUZA) was established by Act No. 8 of 1999 of the Zanzibar House of Representatives which was then amended by Act No. 11 of 2009, and further re-amended by Act No. 7 of 2016. His Excellency Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, the President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council is the Chancellor of the University. The University became operational in September 2001.
