Kigoda Cha Taaluma Cha Sheikh Abeid Aman Karume

Kigoda cha Abeid Amani Karume katika Ukombozi na Maendeleo cha Chuo Kikuu cha Taifa cha Zanzibar kinaanzishwa mahususi kumuenzi Sheikh Abeid Amani Karume, Rais Mstaafu wa Zanzibar na Mwenyekiti wa Baraza la Mapinduzi ambaye pia alikuwa ni Makamu wa Kwanza wa Rais wa Jumhuri ya Muungano wa Tanzania. Kigoda hiki kitaendeleza falsafa za ukombozi na umajumui wa Afrika. Falsafa ambazo Sheikh Karume alizisimamia kwa juhudi kubwa katika uhai wake. Kupitia Kigoda hiki wasomi na watafiti mbalimbali watafanya utafiti na kuwakuza (mentoring) wasomi wengine katika falsafa za ukombozi ili kupata kizazi kipya cha wasomi.

Pia kigoda kitatumika kupanua wigo wa ujuzi na elimu mbalimbali hapa chuoni na nchini kwa ujumla. Hali kadhalika kigoda hiki kitahifadhi kumbukumbu mbalimbali kuhusu Sheikh Karume na harakati zake za Ukombozi na Maendeleo kwa ajili kizazi cha sasa na kijacho. Kuwepo kwa Kigoda cha Sheikh Karume hapa SUZA ni fursa adhimu ya kuwaunganisha wasomi wa ndani na nje ya Zanzibar, Tanzania na Afrika kwa ujumla ili kushiriki katika makongamano na mijadala mbalimbali ya kitaaluma. Hii itakuza mashirikiano ya kitaaluma na kimaendeleo.

The Professorial Chairs of Abeid Amani Karume in the Liberation and Development of the State University of Zanzibar is established specifically to honor Sheikh Abeid Amani Karume, the retired President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council who was also the First Vice President of the United Republic of Tanzania. This school will promote the philosophies of African liberation and socialization. The philosophies that Sheikh Karume managed with great effort in his life. Through this Kigoda various academics and researchers will conduct research and develop (mentoring) other academics in liberating philosophies to find a new generation of academics.

The project will also be used to expand the scope of various skills and education here at the University and in the country as a whole. Likewise, this shrine will preserve various memories about Sheikh Karume and his movements for Liberation and Development for the present and future generations. The presence of Sheikh Karume’s Kigoda here in SUZA is a great opportunity to bring together scholars from inside and outside Zanzibar, Tanzania and Africa in general to participate in various academic conferences and discussions. This will promote professional and developmental collaborations.

To preserve, honor and develop the thoughts and ideas of Sheikh Abeid Amani Karume in bringing peace liberation and development of Zanzibar, Tanzania, Africa and the world in general through research and various academic discussions from stakeholders and research experts from various cadres (interdisciplinary researches and intellectual debates) to face various challenges in the economic, social, cultural, scientific and intellectual fields and make SUZA develop his desire to be a catalyst for social changes (Catalyst for Social Changes).
