SUZA Vice Chancellor, Prof. Moh’d Makame Haji, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating that it is an honor for SUZA to receive such a delegation. He emphasized on the university’s readiness to collaborate in various fields, particularly in health sciences. SUZA is planning to launch a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering program and is in a process of improving experts capacities and equipment. Additionally, the School of Education faces shortages in resources and specialists in Inclusive Education, Special Needs Education, Sports Science Teaching, and Early Childhood Education.
Madame Yan Wei Vivian, Director for Incoming Mobility, International Alumni, and International Cooperation at HUST, highlighted the university’s strong reputation, ranking fifth and sixth in China’s top Universities. She invited SUZA to send students and faculty members to HUST for academic exchange.
The head of the HUST delegation emphasized that this visit presents an excellent opportunity for collaboration in education, research, innovation, as well as student and staff exchanges. She noted that the faculties of both universities have many in common, making cooperation highly beneficial.
Dr. Said Khamis Juma, Dean of the SUZA School of Education, outlined potential areas of collaboration, including supervision for master’s students, joint online teaching, public lectures, and the provision of equipment for individuals with special needs.
Dr. Salum Ahmed, a HUST alumnus currently pursuing postdoctoral research at HUST, expressed his willingness to serve as SUZA’s ambassador at HUST, promoting SUZA and facilitating communication between the two institutions. SUZA has maintained international partnerships for years, focusing on research, publications, and staff and student exchanges.
