A co-creation session was held today at Kilimahewa School, bringing together students, researchers, and community members to learn, discuss, and share experiences around mosquitoes, malaria prevention, and community health.
The session was led by PhD student Rabia and her assistants, who engaged participants through discussions and interactive activities. Students had the opportunity to ask questions, share what they already knew, and discuss their experiences with mosquitoes and malaria in their communities.
The participation of community members also provided an important opportunity to connect research with local knowledge and everyday experiences. By bringing students, researchers, and communities into the same space, the session encouraged open dialogue and allowed different perspectives to contribute to the discussion.
The activity is part of the wider BSU4 co-creation activities, which aim to bring researchers and communities together to share knowledge and work towards solutions that respond to real community needs.
The session at Kilimahewa highlighted the importance of creating spaces where research, education, and community knowledge can come together. Through continued engagement, participants can learn from one another and contribute to building greater awareness and practical approaches to malaria prevention and community health.
