The State University of Zanzibar (SUZA), in collaboration with Aarhus University and Roskilde University, is conducting the Zanzibar Circular Economy Workshop under the Building Stronger Universities Project IV (BSU IV) from 23rd to 27th March 2026 at the SUZA Institute of Tourism (IoT-SUZA).
The workshop was officially launched by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Planning, Finance and Administration), Prof. Salum Seif, who encouraged participants to use the opportunity to develop strong, practical, and impactful solutions, and urged research students to generate innovative and scientifically rigorous intervention research.
Facilitated by Prof. Rikke Lybæk, Dr. Idrissa Hamad, and Madam Aziza A. Siba, the workshop brings together participants for five days of learning, discussion, field exposure, and idea development on circular economy and sustainability. The programme also includes student pitches on intervention research ideas, certificate presentation, ceremonial photographs, and the official closing by the Vice Chancellor.
