Dr. Idrissa is a Lecturer at the State University of Zanzibar (SUZA) and an accomplished academic, researcher, and environmental specialist with over 17 years of experience in university teaching, research, and professional practice. He specializes in Geography, Environmental Studies, and Marine and Coastal Sciences, with expertise in environmental monitoring, climate change assessment, GIS, remote sensing, and drone-based applications. He holds a PhD in Ecoscience from Aarhus University, Denmark, an MSc in Environmental Science from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry, USA, and a BA with Education (Geography major) from the State University of Zanzibar. He has made notable contributions to teaching, research, curriculum development, and academic leadership at SUZA, and has also played important roles in national and institutional initiatives related to environmental policy, climate adaptation, coastal and marine ecosystem management, and interdisciplinary research partnerships
