Dr. Wahira is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Natural Science, School of Natural and Social Sciences, with an extensive expertise in natural resource management, climate change and coastal ecosystem governance. She holds a PhD in Natural Resources from the University of Greenwich (UK), an MSc of Life Sciences from the Norwegian University and a BSc from Sokoine University of Agriculture. Since 2006, she has contributed to teaching, research and international collaboration. Her work focuses on climate change adaptation, mangrove resilience and sustainable coastal livelihoods. She also leads major international projects, including the NORAD-funded Samaki and CENSU initiatives, demonstrating strong leadership in research, partnerships and capacity building. Her academic training and multidisciplinary expertise position her strongly to lead academic programs that address sustainable agriculture, environmental conservation and climate-resilient development.
