Dr. Saada Wahab is the Head of the Department of Social Sciences and a Lecturer at The State University of Zanzibar (SUZA), where she has been a faculty member and researcher since 2011. She earned her PhD in Social Sciences from the University of Göttingen, Germany, a Master of Arts in History from the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and a Bachelor of Arts with Education from SUZA. Dr. Wahab is a specialist in the history of East Africa, with core research expertise encompassing the maritime history of the Swahili Coast and diaspora communities, gender history, and slavery and post-emancipation studies. She brings extensive experience in archival methodologies and ethnographic fieldwork across Zanzibar and Mainland Tanzania.
