Dr. Maimuna is a Lecturer in Kiswahili at the School of Kiswahili and Foreign Languages, where she contributes to the teaching and development of Kiswahili language and linguistics. She brings a rich and diverse academic background to her role, having pursued her studies across distinguished East African institutions.

Maimuna holds a PhD in Kiswahili from the Open University of Tanzania, through which she has demonstrated a high level of scholarly engagement with Kiswahili language, literature and related disciplines. She also holds a Master of Arts in Kiswahili and a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication, both from the Islamic University in Uganda. This combination of advanced linguistic study and communication training equips her with a broad interdisciplinary perspective that enriches her teaching and research.
