Dr. Fat-hiya Abdallah Said is a Lecturer in the Department of Paediatrics at the School of Health and Medical Sciences, State University of Zanzibar (SUZA), and a specialist Paediatrician with a super-specialization in Paediatric Haematology and Oncology. She holds an MSc in Paediatric Haematooncology from Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences, an MMed in Paediatrics from the International Medical and Technological University, Dar es Salaam, and an MD from the University of Dar es Salaam through Muhimbili University College of Health Sciences. She has served as Assistant Head of Paediatrics at Mnazi Mmoja Hospital and as Acting Head of the Paediatrics Department at SUZA, and has published several articles in peer-reviewed medical journals. At the national level, she serves on the National Committee for the Verification of Measles Elimination in Tanzania and the Zanzibar Pharmacovigilance Committee. A pioneering figure in paediatric cancer management in Zanzibar, Dr. Fat-hiya participates in the National Paediatric Cancer Control Planning programme (NCCP iCAYA) in collaboration with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, reflecting her commitment to improving cancer care for children and young people across Tanzania
