Bio

Dr. Abdulrahman Suleiman Khamis is a Lecturer in the Department of Educational Foundation, Instruction and Leadership (DEFIL), School of Education, The State University of Zanzibar (SUZA). He holds a PhD in Education from the University of Dar es Salaam, MA in Education from the University of Dodoma, and a BA with Education from SUZA. He specializes in Inclusive Education, Educational Psychology and Curriculum studies. Dr. Khamis has extensive experience in teaching, research, and curriculum development, and is an active contributor to higher education transformation through innovative pedagogy and competence-based approaches at the State University of Zanzibar.

He has served as a member of the SUZA Curriculum Review Team (2024–2025) and has facilitated numerous trainings on gender-responsive pedagogy and teaching innovations. He also supports both local and international initiatives that promote gender equity in education across Zanzibar. Dr. Khamis’s research focuses on gender in education, particularly in early childhood education, and its implications for teaching and learning. He continues to contribute to academic development through research, training, and community engagement.
