CENSU Research and Education Program (Climate Change, Energy,Sustainability: Transformation and Governance)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CALL FOR DRAFT MANUSCRIPTS<\/strong><\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CENSU Research and Education Program at the State University of Zanzibar
(SUZA) invites submissions of draft manuscripts for participation in a
structured manuscript development and scientific writing workshop series.
This initiative is designed to support researchers and professionals in
strengthening their scholarly work and producing high-quality, publishable
scientific outputs aligned with the program\u2019s thematic priorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Background<\/strong>
    The CENSU Program focuses on advancing interdisciplinary research and
    capacity building in the areas of climate change, energy, sustainability, and
    governance. As part of its commitment to enhancing research excellence and
    knowledge dissemination, the program is organizing workshops aimed at
    transforming draft manuscripts into publishable articles.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Objectives of the Call: The specific objectives are to:<\/strong>
    \uf0b7 Identify promising draft manuscripts for development into publishable
    papers
    \uf0b7 Strengthen scientific writing, analysis, and publication skills
    \uf0b7 Promote research aligned with CENSU thematic areas
    \uf0b7 Facilitate mentorship, peer learning, and collaboration among
    researchers<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Thematic Areas: Submitted manuscripts must align with one or more of the
    following themes:<\/strong>
    \uf0b7 Climate change adaptation and mitigation
    \uf0b7 Energy systems, including oil and gas and renewable energy transitions<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    \uf0b7 Sustainability and natural resource management
    \uf0b7 Governance, policy, and institutional frameworks
    \uf0b7 Socio-economic and livelihood impacts of energy and environmental
    change<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Eligibility: This call is open to:<\/strong>
      \uf0b7 Academic staff and researchers from SUZA
      \uf0b7 Researchers from other higher education institutions
      \uf0b7 Researchers from recognized research institutions
      \uf0b7 Staff from government institutions, particularly those working in oil and
      gas and related sectors in Zanzibar<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Support to Selected Applicants: Selected applicants will benefit from:<\/strong>
      \uf0b7 Participation in intensive manuscript development workshops
      \uf0b7 Technical guidance and mentorship from experienced facilitators
      \uf0b7 Structured peer-review and feedback sessions
      \uf0b7 Support to finalize manuscripts and submit them for publication
      during the workshop period<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Submission Requirements: Applicants are required to submit:<\/strong>
      \uf0b7 A draft manuscript (complete or in-progress)
      \uf0b7 An abstract (250\u2013300 words)
      \uf0b7 Author(s) names and institutional affiliations<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. Selection Criteria: Submissions will be assessed based on:<\/strong>
      \uf0b7 Relevance to CENSU thematic priorities
      \uf0b7 Scientific merit and originality
      \uf0b7 Potential for publication in peer-reviewed outlets
      \uf0b7 Commitment of the author(s) to actively participate in the workshop
      process<\/li>\n\n\n\n

      \uf0b7 Notification of Acceptance: 2nd May 2026
      \uf0b7 Workshop Period is between: 7th May \u2013 11th May 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n
